JUST FOLLOW THESE SEVEN EASY STEPS TO CLEAR THE OVERWHELM AND ENJOY LIFE TODAY
- Look after your body.
That means sleeping at least 7 hours a night, drinking two litres of water a day, getting your recommended daily servings of fruit and vegetables and making sure you get a minimum of 10,000 steps in each day. A healthy body puts us in a place where we can perform better!
- Look after your mind.
Cultivate learning in your mind, read books, do crossword puzzles (or watch The Chase like me), challenge your mind daily and it will be healthier for it.
- Look after your emotions.
Cut out unhealthy relationships (business or personal) and reduce negativity and stress around you.
Networking is not only amazing for business, but it’s amazing for our mind and emotions too. Getting to know other women who are going through what you are going through can help you learn coping mechanisms, new techniques and gets you out of the home office and out there in the big wide world.
- Ensure you have a healthy work/life balance.
Set yourself boundaries for work, I work to set hours and I don’t touch my business outside of those. Spend time with your family and good friends. Enjoy life, life isn’t all about work.
- Enjoy Nature.
Take the time to walk outside, in the sunlight (gotta get that daily dose of Vitamin D) and breathe the fresh air. I always feel refreshed and invigorated after spending time outdoors. Even if I only have time for a cuppa in the sun.
- Disconnect to reconnect.
Social media, screens, the digital age: we are bombarded 24/7 by artificial contact. Take time out each and every week without your phone, without any devices and just enjoy the real life in front of you. Facebook and Instagram will still be there when you come back.
IF YOU'RE SO OVERWHELMED YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO EVEN START....
Just implement one of the seven steps first and then add the others in as you can manage.
After suffering from burnout and an autoimmune condition, I completely understand the feeling of not even knowing where to start.
I can't wait to see you all leading fulfilling lives and saying goodbye to the overwhelm forever.
